Sydney

My sweet sister celebrated her 40th birthday recently- so my sister Jo, her daughter Alex and I flew to Sydney for the weekend to surprise her.  We had a great time raoming around the city, shared morning tea at the Lindt Cafe (yum, yum!) , a spot of shopping and spent time with our gorgeous niece and nephew.  The weather was fantastic and it was a real novelty having to layer up the clothing again.

Love this pic of Lily...she has sooooo many funny faces and what a cutie!!

A busy few weeks..

It has been such a busy few weeks with Easter weekend followed by Bronte's 12th birthday and then to round things up Mother's Day this weekend. We have been enjoying some beautiful weather and with a run of long weekends have had many opportunities to get out as a family.  Last Monday we went to Bullocky's Rest on the banks of the Pine Dam with my sisters family and enjoyed a bit of cricket, feeding the ducks and just being out in the fresh air. Mother's Day started off with an invasion of children into our bed, then breakfast and a quick trip out to the shops. Very spoilt!

We had a proper birthday party for Bronte last year - so decided to keep things a little quieter this year.  Bronte had a close friend come over for the afternoon and a sleepover and shared cake for afternoon tea.   Bronte and the boys wanted to blow up some balloons despite not having a party then proceeded to fill them with water instead and amuse themselves by taking them outside and rupturing on the concrete; leaving all the broken pieces of balloon for us to pick up later.
